New Type of Remote Assistance
I really want everyone having a Dell computer to know about this. Yesterday i had a problem with my Vostro( Its a laptop from Dell) . I had problem in connecting it to a wireless network, but the wired network was working properly. I called dell technical support and reached a technician. He tried various troubleshooting steps and over phone but nothing seemed to fix the problem. So he finally decided to take up remote control of my laptop. I was asked to go to www.dellconnect.com and select my country and a accept an agreement displayed on that page. Then the technician gave me a 7 digit code and asked me to type the code at a textbox displayed in the website and click go. Then the website asked me to install a software. I downloaded that software and installed it. As soon as the installation completed , the technician was able to take control of my laptop. A small window was there on my desktop screen. It read "DELLCONNECT", the technician said its the name of the tool they use to take control of the customer's computer. He fixed the problem within 5 minutes after taking control of my computer. So, If anyone has a problem with their dell computer and if you are able to connect to internet, please ask the dell technician to take remote control of your computer and fix the problem. It really saves a lot of time.
