Its high for the buildings under the jurisdiction of Chennai corporation to check whether they have been built according to the CMDA norms, because government has ordered for the demolition of the buildings that violate the CMDA rule. The demolition work has already started at the T.Nagar and Usman road area. All the encroachments have been removed and the shops that do not have proper permission have been demolished. Some of the shopkeepers have filed a case against this. But the shopkeepers have been given prior notice to vacate that place before 21st of November. So the police and Corporation engineer say that the shopkeepers have no right to stop this demolition.
