Moral Values Decide Your Career

This is one of the most famous theories existing in the world of professional ethics. It is known as the "Heinz's Dilemma". This theory is about a woman and her husband, Heinz living in Europe. The woman was affected by cancer and she has been admitted in a hospital. The doctors who examined her have told her to use an expensive drug which is the only cure for her disease. The pharmacist who invented that medicine charged ten times the cost of making the drug. In spite of his poverty, Heinz took a lot effort to borrow money from various sources, but he could get only half the amount he needed. He approached the pharmacist and begged him to sell the drug at a cheaper price or allow him to pay for it later. But the pharmacist refused to do so. Finally without any hope, Heinz forcibly entered into the pharmacy and stole the drug. The question here is "was the theft morally right or wrong?" When certain group of men and women were surveyed, the answers were different. Men gave two views, one: what Heinz did was wrong, two: Heinz was correct as the life of his wife was more important than the property right of the pharmacist. When the same question was asked to women, everyone gave the same answer. They replied Heinz was wrong. They further told that instead of stealing the medicine, Heinz could have tried alternative solutions like trying to convince the pharmacist to give the medicine. Globally, only moral and ethical values are respected when it comes to corporate world. That’s why most of the people at higher level in corporate offices are women.

My College Life

I have just completed Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology college education from Anna University, Chennai. Its a 4 year course and these four years are the best part of my life. Although my college is very strict and its rules, rules, rules everywhere i learnt a lot of ways to break the rules, from my seniors. Its hard to study during semester, buts "its easy to study when the exams are near" is the most important thing i experienced in my college life. I was really a reserved kind of character till i came to college. But the diversity i found in my college change my attitude.
